Keamanan dan kerahasiaan sebuah data atau informasi dalam komunikasi dan pertukaran informasi sangatlah penting. Seringkali data atau informasi yang penting, dalam komunikasi dan pertukaran informasi kadang tidak sampai kepada penerima atau tidak hanya diterima oleh penerima tetapi juga oleh pihak lain yang melakukan pembajakan atau penyadapan. Hal ini membuat data atau informasi tersebut menjadi tidak berguna lagi dan lebih parahnya lagi kadang data atau informasi tersebut oleh para pembajak digunakan untuk menjatuhkan pihak lain. Oleh karena itu kriptografi sangat dibutuhkan dalam menjaga kerahasiaan data atau informasi. Metode(algoritma) kriptografi terdiri dari algoritma enkripsi dan algoritma dekripsi. Enkripsi dimaksudkan untuk melindungi informasi agar tidak terlihat oleh orang atau pihak yang tidak berhak. Ada banyak model dan metode enkripsi, beberapa di antaranya adalah enkripsi dengan algoritma Caesar dan algoritma Vigenere. Kedua metode ini merupakan algoritma kunci simetris dan sama-sama menggunakan teknik substitusi dalam proses enkripsi maupun dekripsinya. Pada laporan ini ini akan dibahas tentang analisa perbandingan kedua metode tersebut. Analisa dilakukan berdasarkan beberapa parameter sehingga diketahui metode terbaik diantara kedua metode tersebut.
Description Alternative :Security and confidentiality of the data or information in the communication and exchange of information is critical. Often the data or information that is important, the communication and exchange of information sometimes does not reach the recipient or is not only accepted by the recipient but also by others who do piracy or tapping. This makes the data or information becomes useless and sometimes much worse the data or information used by the hijackers to drop the other side. Therefore, cryptography is necessary in maintaining the confidentiality of data or information. Method (algorithm) cryptography consists of encryption algorithms and decryption algorithms. Encryption is meant to protect the information to avoid being seen by people or parties who are not eligible. There are many models and encryption methods, some of which are encrypted with the Caesar algorithm and Vigenere algorithm. The second method is a symmetric key algorithm and the same substitution technique in the encryption and decryption process. In this report, this will be discussed on the comparative analysis of these methods. The analysis is based on several unknown parameters so that the best method of both methods.
