VcomNet adalah sebuah penyedia jasa layanan internet berskala kecil. Pada sistem jaringan VcomNet saat masih menggunakan bembagian bandwidth sederhana simple queue. Namun pada prakteknya metode simple queue masih kurang maksimal karena bandwidth tidak bisa di gunakan secara dinamis dimana user hanya akan mendapatkan bandwidth sesuai yang telah di tetapkan meskipun jaringan dalam keadaan tidak sibuk.

Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) merupakan teknik penjadwalan paket yang sering digunakan pada router berbasis Linux. Dengan adanya penerapan manajemen bandwidth dengan metode Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) pada jaringan VcomNet, diharapkan adanya perbaikan Quality of Service (QoS) dan mampu memanfaatkan bandwidth yang tersedia pada saat keadaan traffic jaringan sedang tidak sibuk.

Pengukuran terhadap parameter QoS yang telah dilakukan pada jaringan simple queue didapatkan nilai throughput 25,63% dengan kategori “SEDANG”, nilai delay 23,76ms dengan kategori “BAGUS”, nilai jitter 23,76ms dengan kategori “BAGUS”, dan nilai pcket loss sebesar 0% dengan kategori “SANGAT BAGUS”. Rata-rata indeks berdasarkan indeks THIPON sebesar 3,2 dengan kategori “BAGUS”. Pengukuran terhadap parameter setelah hierarchical token bucket di dapatkan hasil sebagai berikut : nilai Throughput 37% dengan kategori “SEDANG”, nilai delay 4,44ms dengan kategori “SANGAT BAGUS”, nilai jitter 4,43ms dengan kategori “SANGAT BAGUS”, dan nilai packet loss sebesar 0% dengan kategori “SANGAT BAGUS”. Rata-rata indeks berdasarkan standar THIPON sebesar 3,5 dengan kategori “BAGUS”. Sehingga setelah menerapkan metode HTB pada jaringan VcomNet penggunaan bandwidth yang disediakan oleh ISP mampu digunakan secara dinamis menyesuaikan dengan keadaan traffic jaringan.

VcomNet is a small-scale Internet service provider. On the VcomNet network system while still using simple bandwidth sharing simple queue. But in practice the simple queue method is still less than optimal because bandwidth cannot be used dynamically where the user will only get bandwidth according to what has been determined even though the network is not busy.

Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) is a package scheduling technique that is often used on Linux-based routers. With the implementation of bandwidth management with the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) method on the VcomNet network, it is expected that there will be improvements in Quality of Service (QoS) and be able to utilize the available bandwidth when the state of network traffic is not busy.

Measurement of QoS parameters that have been carried out on a simple queue network obtained a throughput value of 25.63% with the category "MEDIUM", the value of delay 23.76ms with the category "NICE", the jitter value of 23.76ms with the category "NICE", and the value of pcket loss 0% with the "VERY GOOD" category. The average index is based on THIPON index of 3.2 with the category "NICE". The measurement of parameters after hierarichal token bucket gets the following results: 37% throughput with the category "MEDIUM", 4.44ms delay value with the category "VERY GOOD", 4.43ms jitter value with the category "VERY GOOD", and packet value loss of 0% with the category "VERY GOOD". The average index is based on the THIPON standard of 3.5 with the category "NICE". So after applying the HTB method on the VcomNet network the bandwidth usage provided by ISP is able to be used dynamically to adjust to the state of network traffic.
