Pada saat ini sistem pendaftaran pada SMK Unggul Sakti Jambi telah menggunakan komputer tetapi masih mengutamakan sistem offline, yakni calon siswa harus datang ke sekolah untuk mengambil formulir lalu mengembalikannya kembali ke sekolah. Dengan jumlah pendaftar yang banyak sistem offline tersebut membutuhkan tenaga lebih dari satu orang staff tata usaha. Hal tersebut menjadi tidak efektif dan efisien jika dilihat dari jumlah staff tata usaha yang ada. Oleh karena itu sistem pendaftaran berbasis online sangat dibutuhkan untuk meringankan serta mempercepat kinerja dari panitia penerimaan siswa baru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pengembangan sistem yaitu merancang sistem pendaftaran online berbasis web yang dapat diakses melalui internet dengan menggunakan perangkat komputer. Sistem pendaftaran online ini dibangun dengan bahasa pemrograman PHP serta memanfaatkan database MySQL sebagai database server. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sistem pendaftaran online berbasis web yang memiliki kemampuan memberikan kemudahan bagi calon siswa baru untuk memperoleh semua informasi tentang penerimaan siswa baru dan melakukan proses pendaftaran online.
Deskripsi Alternatif :At the moment the registration system at SMK Unggul Sakti Jambi has used the computer but still prioritizes the offline system, the prospective students must come to school to retrieve the form and return it back to school. With the number of registrants that many offline systems require more than one person administrative staff. It becomes ineffective and efficient when viewed from the number of existing administrative staff. Therefore, an online registration system is needed to alleviate and accelerate the performance of new admissions committees. Research method used in this research is system development method that is designing web-based online registration system that can be accessed through internet by using computer device. This online registration system is built with PHP programming language as well as utilizing MySQL database as database server. The results of this study is a web-based online registration system that has the ability to provide convenience for prospective new students to obtain all information about the admission of new students and conduct the online registration process.
