Barang bekas ataupun sampah daur ulang lainnya terkadang menumpuk dirumah, sebagian berada di tempat pembuangan akhir, lalu selebihnya berserakan di jalan. Bank sampah muncul sebagai sistem pengelolaan sampah yang akan menampung sampah bernilai ekonomi sehingga masyarakat mendapat keuntungan ekonomi dari menabung sampah. Di Kota Jambi sendiri puluhan bank sampah telah berdiri, namun informasi mengenai keberadaan bank sampah serta wadah informasi yang minim menyebabkan masyarakat belum banyak mengetahui tentang bank sampah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan aplikasi mobile yang diperuntukkan untuk pengguna Android agar dapat menjadi wadah informasi mengenai lokasi bank sampah yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk peta dan rute serta beberapa fitur tambahan. Selama melakukan penelitian, penulis mengumpulkan data menggunakan metode observasi dan wawancara. Pengembangan sistem menggunakan metode waterfall yang menyelesaikan masalah secara bertahap dan dapat memeriksa kembali jika ada perbaikan pada tahap tertentu. Aplikasi ini memiliki fitur antara lain jenis sampah, jemput sampah, peta bank sampah, serta berita seputar lingkungan.
Deskripsi Alternatif :Second-hand items or unused items, product packaging, and other recycled waste sometimes accumulate at home, some are in landfills, and the rest are scattered on the road. However, most of the people are not aware of the importance of waste management. Garbage banks emerge as a waste management system that will provide economic value so that people get economic benefits from saving garbage. In Jambi City dozens of garbage banks have been established, but information about the existence of a waste bank and a minimal information container has caused people to not know much about garbage banks. This study aims to produce a mobile application that is intended for Android users so that it can become a forum for information about waste bank locations that are displayed in the form of maps and routes as well as some additional features. During conducting research, the author collected the data using observation and interview methods. System development uses the waterfall method that resolves the problem gradually and capable to recheck if there are improvements at a certain stage. This application is combined with Google Maps, which is a web-based virtual world map service provided by Google. This application has features such as garbage types, garbage picking, garbage bank maps, and news about waste and the environment.
