Perkembangan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi khususnya dalam bidang teknologi informasi sangatlah pesat. Keberadaan komputer saat ini merupakan salah satu factor penunjang yang sangat penting bagi kelancaran aktifitas suatu lembaga. Peran computer begitu penting sebagai salah satu sarana untuk menghasilkan informasi yang akurat dan tepat waktu, terutama dalam hal pengolahan data. Disamping itu, komputer meminimalisasi masalah atau kesalahan yang muncul dalam penyajian informasi. Pengolahan data yang terkomputerisasi merupakan media yang tepat untuk mencapai hal-hal seperti di atas, karena mempunyai kemampuan yang tinggi dalam mencapai ketelitian, kecepatan proses yang mendukung dan efisiensi tenaga. Memang tidak semua komputerisasi itu bisa diterapkan seefektif mungkin, masih banyak instansi (badan usaha) yang belum melakukan pengolahan data yang terkomputeriasi. Seperti yang penulis temukan pada persewaan kapal pada PT. Pelayaran Nelly Dwi Putri Tbk Jmabi. Melihat kenyataan ini maka penulis mencoba untuk memberikan solusi yang tepat untuk kelancaran sistem persewaan secara optimal, dengan mengembangkan sistem informasi yang telah ada dengan Visual Basic 2008 dan Microsoft Access sebagai databasenya

Deskripsi Alternatif :

The development of science and technology, especially in the field of information technology is very rapid. In which the computer is one of the most important supporting factor for the smooth running of the activities of an institution. Computer role is so important as a means to generate information that is accurate and timely, especially in terms of data processing. In addition, minimizing computer problems or errors that appear in the presentation of information.

Computerized data processing is an excellent medium to reach things like the above, because it has a high ability to achieve accuracy, speed and process that supports energy efficiency. Indeed, not all computerized it can be applied as effectively as possible, there are still many institutions (entities) that have not made data processing terkomputeriasi.
