Perkembangan dari kemajuan teknologi informasi saat ini telah membuat kebutuhan akan informasi sebagian besar sudah dapat dipenuhi melalui internet. Begitu pula dengan kemampuan handphone. Jika sebelumnya kemampuan handphone amat terbatas, maka ponsel generasi sekarang dapat mengakses mobile web dengan sangat baik. Perpustakaan SMP/SMA Xaverius 1 Jambi merupakan salah satu perpustakaan yang cukup lengkap. Namun, sistem yang diterapkan dirasa masih belum secara efektif memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna perpustakaan. Sistem yang diusulkan merupakan aplikasi berbasis mobile web yang memberikan kemudahan dalam pengaksesan informasi perpustakaan dengan menggunakan perangkat mobile terutama handphone. Melalui sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pelayanan perpustakaan sehingga dapat menjalankan peran perpustakaan sebagai sumber ilmu di lingkungan sekolah.
Deskripsi Alternatif :The development of information technology in this moment has fulfill our need of information by the internet. So does the handphone ability. If handphone feature was limited before, nowadays, handphone is capable of accessing the web with a very good performance. SMP/SMA Xaverius 1 Jambis library was one of the most complete collection library, but the system seems not effectively fulfill the need of library user. The new designed system is a mobile web application that makes library information can be accessed easily from mobile device especially handphone. By using this system, hope that the library can improve its service anddoing its part as the source of knowledge in the school environment.
