Seiring dengan berjalannya waktu dan teknologi harus diakui masih terbatasnya kualitas sarana dan prasarana di Indonesia ditambah lagi kondisi demografis Indonesia yang merupakan kendala dalam proses pamerataan mutu pendidikan. Penelitian pada SMK Pgri 2 Kota Jambi dilakukan untuk menganalisis sistem penerimaan siswa baru yang meliputi pengumuman informasi pendaftaran, proses pendaftaran, hingga pengolahan data pendaftar oleh panitia PSB yang masih menggunakan sistem yang konversional. Maka dari itu dibutuhkan suatu perancangan sistem penerimaan siswa baru berbasis web yang dapat memperbaiki sistem konversional tersebut, dengan tujuan agar mempermudah calon siswa pendaftar untuk memperoleh informasi tentang pendaftaran, registrasi siswa yang dilakukan secara online, hingga pengumuman hasil seleksi yang di umumkan melalui website, serta dengan sistem penerimaan siswa baru berbasis web ini dapat mempermudah panitia PSB dalam melakukan pengolahan data siswa yang telah mendaftar pada SMK Pgri 2 Kota Jambi.
Deskripsi Alternatif :As time goes and the technology must be recognized the limited quality of facilities and infrastructure in Indonesia plus demograohics Indonesia which is an obstacle in the process of aqualization of education quality. Research on SMK Pgri 2 Jambi City conducted to analyze the student admission system that includes registration information announcements, registration process, until the registrant data processing by the committee PSB are still using the conventional system. Therefore we need a design of information system registration web-based that can improve convertional system, with the purpose to facilitate the prospective student applicants to obtain information about registration, the student registration is done online, until the announcement of the selection results were announced through the website, as well as with student registration web-based can facilitate committee PSB in data processing students who have registration on SMK Pgri 2 Jambi City.
